Rules & Forms
Here are some simple guidelines to organising events for your Network. Remember, they only apply if everyone is over 18.
- Check if the activity you want to do is not a Banned Activity. These activities you cannot take part in, even if you are over 18.
- If the activity is adventurous (as defined by rule 9.7a of POR), then you must:
- Tell the County Scout Network Commissioner
- Follow the guidance in Factsheet 120087 - including appointing a home contact, risk assessments and using professional centres.
- Get everyone in the group to sign an Acknowledgement of Risk Form (found in Factsheet 120087). The organiser should retain copies of these and they do not need to be submitted. They can be signed on the day of the activity.
- Tell the County Scout Network Commissioner
- If you are staying overnight, then complete a NAN form and send this to the County Scout Network Commissioner.
- If the activity isn't adeventurous, then there is no need to follow the guidance in FS120087 or fill in risk forms. The Network Leader must be aware of the activity though.
- You do not need a formal qualification to lead an activity where everyone is over 18 - but you must follow the guidance in FS120087.
- If anyone in the group is under 18 - then these rules do not apply and you should follow the standard rules for the relevant section.
Network is trusted with self-regulating this flexible scheme - it is important that it isn't abused!
